Privacy

This policy covers the DescribeThis.ai website and the image-to-text features available on it. It applies to anyone who visits the site, with or without uploading an image. We don't operate a separate app, API or third-party integration.

When you upload an image, it is sent over HTTPS to our server. The image is held in memory for the short time needed to run moderation and to generate your results, and then it is discarded.

We do not save uploaded images to disk, to a database, or to any long-term storage. We do not associate uploaded images with an account (there are no accounts), and we do not publish them anywhere.

The text we generate from your image (prompt, description, caption, vibe, hashtags) is returned directly to your browser. We may briefly cache results so that regenerating a single section is fast, but generated text is not tied to your identity.

Every upload passes through an automated safety check before any descriptive AI runs on it. This check looks for sexual content, graphic violence, hate symbols, self-harm imagery and other clearly unsafe categories.

Images that fail moderation are rejected immediately and discarded. No description, caption or prompt is generated, and no human reviews the rejected image.

Moderation is automated and imperfect; safe images are occasionally flagged. If that happens, please try a different image rather than re-uploading.

To generate prompts, descriptions, captions, vibes and hashtags, your image is sent to a third-party AI provider (currently OpenAI's GPT-family vision models, via the Lovable AI Gateway). Moderation may use a separate vision moderation endpoint.

Your image is sent to these providers only for the purpose of returning results to you. We do not authorize providers to use your image to train their models on this endpoint, and we do not retain copies on our side.

Provider processing is governed by their own privacy terms. If your use case has strict data-handling requirements, please review those terms before uploading.

To keep DescribeThis.ai free and fast, we apply per-visitor limits — currently 15 uploads per day, a 30-second cooldown between uploads, and up to 20 section regenerations per day.

To enforce these limits without accounts, we compute a one-way hash of your IP address combined with the current day and a server-side secret. We store this hash and a counter — not your raw IP. The hash cannot be reversed back into your IP address, and it is rotated daily.

We may also block traffic that shows clear signs of automated abuse (very high request rates, malformed payloads, repeated moderation failures).

We use lightweight, privacy-friendly analytics to understand how the site is used — for example, which pages are visited, rough country-level geography, and broad device type (mobile vs desktop). This data is aggregated and is not used to build personal profiles.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, ad-network trackers, or cross-site behavioral tracking. We may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies or local-storage values to remember UI preferences (such as dismissing a banner). You can clear these from your browser at any time.

Uploaded images: discarded immediately after results are returned.

Generated text: not stored against you. Cached only briefly for regeneration within your session.

Rate-limit counters: kept for the current day, then rotated.

Feedback you choose to send: stored so we can read it and improve the product. You can ask us to delete a specific submission by contacting us.

Because we don't keep accounts or store uploads, there is very little personal data tied to you in the first place. If you're a resident of the EU/UK or another region with formal data rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection), you can contact us and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

DescribeThis.ai is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has uploaded an image, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Traffic to and from DescribeThis.ai is encrypted with HTTPS. Internal services communicate over authenticated channels. We follow standard practices for secret management and access control, but no system is perfectly secure — please avoid uploading images that contain highly sensitive personal information.

We may update this policy as the product evolves — for example, if we add a new feature, change AI providers, or adjust limits. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
